The Combined
Armed Forces Federation UK - Inaugural General Meeting Arrangements have been made to
hold this Meeting on Wednesday March 17th at 3.00pm In the ''Burns Room'' of the Union Jack Club, Sandell
Street, Waterloo, London SE1 8UJ (Tel. 02079-284814 Advance Reservations) Please note that if you wish to
stop overnight at the Union Jack Club on Tuesday 16th March, 2004, you are advised to book a room as soon
as possible. A basic room costs £32.00. They are modern and good value for London. The Union Jack Club can
be approached from the main Concorse of Waterloo Railway Station, by taking the Escalator (Opposite the
Arrival and Departure Platforms, and not the one to the Underground) to the lower Main Entrance to Waterloo
Station. The union Jack Club and Sandell Street are immediately opposite the Main Entrance.
Please also note it is proposed to meet outside the House Of Commons on Wednesday 17th March at 10.30am
for a group photograph and to use the opportunity to lobby our M.P's since most of them will be attending
Prime Minister's Question Time at 12. noon. This is an opportunity not to be missed. Have a letter ready,
pre-printed, Similar to, or the same as that detailed here on this web-site to give to them, setting out on
the reasons you consider you are entitled to a Pro-Rata Pension for the time you served in the Armed Forces,
and asking them what they intend doing about it? Don't forget to put your name and address on it !
The Agenda for the Inaugural General Meeting will primarily be to elect an Executive Committee of Chairman,
Treasurur, Membership Secretary and Representatives for each of the three Services. However a Full Agenda
will hopefully be posted on this web-site nearer the 17th March. If you would like to consider for any of the
positions on the Executive Committee, or have anything you would like to included please let me know, in
writing, as soon as possible. It is also important you let me know as soon as possible if you will be in
attendance, outside the house the House Of Commons at 10.30am on Wedbesday 17th March, to lobby M.P's and
later at the Inaugural Meeting in the Union Jack Club at 3pm Please let me do so in writing and not by Email
for the immediate future.
